Final meeting: Sunday 16th July 1732
The small Surrey village of Limpsfield, located at the foot of the North Downs, was in the Anglo-Saxon Hundred of Tandridge and today is served by Oxted railway station. It enjoys a rich history, being mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book when known as Limenesfeld and was held by the Abbot of nearby Battle Abbey. In the early part of the 18th century it held its own races from Saturday 15th July to Sunday 16th July 1732, the meeting being included in John Cheny's Historical List.
